What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data, stored in text files, that are stored on your computer or other device when websites are loaded in a browser. They are widely used to ‘remember’ you and your preferences, either for a single visit (through a ’session cookie’) or for multiple repeat visits (using a ‘persistent cookie’). They ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors, and perform essential functions such as allowing users to register and remain logged in. Cookies may be set by the site that you are visiting (known as ‘first party cookies’), or by other websites who serve up content on that site (‘third party cookies’).
ThemeinWP uses similar cookies and technologies to ensure the correct functioning of the procedures and improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed informations on the use of cookies (and similar technologies), how they are used by www.themeinwp.com and how to handle them.
COOKIE TYPES
Depending on the characteristics and the use of cookies we can distinguish different categories:
Technical Cookies: These are essential cookies for the proper functioning of the site and are used to handle login and access to the site’s private functions.
Cookie Analysis and Performance: These are cookies used to collect and analyze traffic and site usage anonymously. These cookies, even without identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect whether the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow you to monitor your system and improve its performance and usability. Disabling such cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
Third Party Cookies: While browsing on a site, the user can also receive cookies on his terminal that are sent from sites or other web servers (“third parties”) on which some elements (such as images, Maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) on the site that the same is visiting.)
Profiling cookies: These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously and not) the user’s preferences and improve its navigation experience.
This site uses technical cookies and analysis and performance. Instead, it does not use third-party cookies and profiling cookies.
DURATION OF COOKIE
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active until the browser closes or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” after closing the browser and are also available on subsequent visits of the user. These cookies are called “persistent” and their duration is fixed by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases a deadline is set, in other cases the duration is unlimited.
This site does not use persistent cookies.
COOKIE MANAGEMENT
The user can decide whether or not to accept cookies using their browser settings. Warning: total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of site features reserved for registered users. Conversely, the use of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies. Disabling third party cookies does not affect navigability in any way. The setting can be defined specifically for different sites and web applications. In addition, the best browsers allow you to define different settings for “proprietary” and “third-party” cookies.
By way of example, in Firefox, through the Tools-> Options–> Privacy menu, you can access a control panel where you can decide whether to accept or not the different types of cookies and to remove them.
