WordPress installation consists of WordPress Core and usually one or more plugins. But some plugins are incompatible with one another. This can result in some undesirable issues. Here is a step-by-step procedure for finding plugin incompatibilities.

Check for Plugin Conflicts

  1. Deactivate all plugins.
  2. Is the issue still there? If yes, read on. If no, the issue was caused by a plugin, move to step 4.
  3. Switch to an unaltered default WordPress theme like TwentyTwentyTwo. Does the issue remain? If yes, click here for advice. If no, click here to report.
  4. Activate the plugins you have one by one. Does the issue come back when you activate the plugins? If yes, the plugin you activated may be conflicting with each other. If no, repeat till all the plugins are active.
  5. Does the issue still remain? If yes, click here to report. If not, the problem is resolved.

Issue Remains with No Plugins and Default Theme

Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you in this situation. It can be a problem with WordPress, a problem with your particular setup, or a problem with your server or web host. You might start a thread in the WordPress support forums to get some pointers.

Issue When Only One Plugin is Active

You could try sending a bug report to the plugin’s development team.

Plugin or Theme Conflict

If you’re using a theme from ThemeinWP, please let us know about the issue by writing to us through the Help Center. As the issue is also with another plugin, we recommend you file a bug report with them, too. It’s your benefit if both teams are working on the issue.

If WordPress themes are licensed with so many freedoms, what’s the point of paying for a theme in the first place?

1. Updates

First and foremost, the purchase of a premium theme generally includes updates and bug fixes for a certain period of time (usually a year).

Regular updates are an important part of keeping a website secure, and over time we add new features, improve performance, and fix bugs to keep your site running smoothly far into the future.

The price of a premium theme with ongoing support is also a great incentive for us the developers to keep improving our themes over time.

2. Support

In addition to regular updates, we also offer a period of support.

This can be incredibly helpful as you’re first configuring the theme, and you’re covered if you run into any major issues down the line.

3. Quality & Expertise

When you buy a premium WordPress theme, you’re essentially paying for expertise.

You don’t want just any random theme. You want a high-quality product from a professional—someone who has spent years honing their craft, learning the ins and outs of WordPress, and how to design a beautiful, functional theme.

Instead of learning it yourself, or hiring someone to do it for you, you invest in a premium theme from a reputable developer.

Final Thoughts

WordPress themes can be a one-time purchase, but it’s generally well worth the investment to continue paying for ongoing updates and support. If you take your website seriously, you’re going to want those continued improvements and a lifeline to call if you need help.

What happens when the license expires? https://www.themeinwp.com/knowledgebase/what-happens-when-the-license-expires/ https://www.themeinwp.com/knowledgebase/what-happens-when-the-license-expires/#respond Thu, 28 Jan 2021 05:41:22 +0000 https://www.themeinwp.com/?post_type=kbe_knowledgebase&p=39800 Once the license expires, you will still have complete access to the theme. However, you will no longer be able to receive updates or support until the license is renewed. If you purchase a premium theme and reach the end of your support period without renewing your license, do you have to stop using the theme? No, your theme itself will be unaffected. You can continue to use it as-is for as long as you like. However, you will stop receiving updates and support from the developer until you reactivate your license. From a legal perspective, this is perfectly fine. The GPL guarantees that you can keep using the theme indefinitely. However, from a technical perspective, you may run the risk of future bugs, conflicts with plugins or WordPress updates, and security vulnerabilities. I have another question No problem! Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions about the theme upgrade.

All your content, theme settings should remain as it is even after switching/upgrading to Pro theme. You can simply install the Pro version, activate it and enjoy the added features and flexibility. However there is nothing wrong on creating backup of your site. Note: If you have made changes directly on the theme code file(Hope you have not), then those changes will get lost when you upgrade the theme. Hence it is never recommended to make code changes directly on theme file. Always create child theme and proceed if you want to make code changes.

You are reading this because you have either purchased a pro theme after using one of our free themes or inquiring about the process to upgrade from free to pro. In either case, thank you for choosing ThemeinWP!

Before Upgrading:

Here are a couple of common questions we get from customers before upgrading:

I modified the code on the free version, what do I do?

There are a couple of different ways that you could have modified the code on the free theme. You could have made changes to the CSS on a stylesheet or edited one of the PHP files to differ from the original theme. If you modified any of the styling or PHP, make sure that the modifications are on a child theme and not on the parent theme.

If you need help making and implementing a child theme, consider our Premium WordPress theme installation service.

What will happen to my existing content?

WordPress handles the actual content of your website via your MySQL database. Luckily, our theme installs do not impact the database, they merely impact the modifications that may have been made to CSS or PHP, outlined above. Do not worry about losing your images, data, posts, or page content when upgrading our themes.

Retrieving the Pro Theme

Installing our themes is done in the same fashion as the typical install of any other theme. Once you have purchased your theme, we will email you a purchase receipt with the theme download link as well.

Note:Can’t find the email? Check your “Spam” folder to see if the email found its way there. Additionally, you can log in on https://www.themeinwp.com/login/ using your created email and password (if you did this on purchase of the theme) to view and re-download your theme and invoice.

Installing the theme

1. The Simple, No Brainer, Piece of Cake Way:

Upload the provided theme-name-pro.zip file via the the WordPress Admin Panel. To do so, go to “Appearance” > “Themes” in the menu, then select the “Install Themes” tab at the top of the page. Once you are at this page, select “Upload,” then “Choose File” to locate the .zip folder on your computer. After doing so, select “Install Now.

If you are you having trouble installing your themes from above method or getting an error? It is very possible that your WordPress install may be restricted to prevent the installation of new themes from the WordPress back-end. If you are getting errors, you may need to install the theme via FTP as explained below.

2. The Roll Up Your Sleeves and Use a Little Elbow Grease Method:

Uncompress the provided theme-name-pro.zip file and upload the template contents to the /wp-content/ themes/ directory of your WordPress installation via your chosen FTP client.

Neither method has an advantage over the other, it is simply a matter of preference.

Is this still not working? Create a support ticket and provide us below details:

– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentials
